- Can’t I just do this myself?
- Theoretically, you can self-perform or DIY website maintenance. However, performing services that are unfamiliar to you can have disastrous consequences, and it would be more costly to hire someone to fix a broken site than it would be to be on a Care Plan. We encourage you to read more about this topic here.
- Understand that if you’re not on a Client Care Plan, you will be responsible for your website’s backups, restoration, uptime monitoring, security scans, malware removal, software updates (theme, plugins, WordPress core), and performance monitoring. It can be a tedious, delicate, and time-consuming process and, if not managed and executed with care, could yield unfavorable results.
- Do your Care Plan packages include hosting?
- Yes! Fully managed hosting is included with our Client Care Plans.
- Can I use your Care Plan services if my site is hosted somewhere else?
- Our current policy requires that Care Plan clients be hosted through Fat Cat Design. This policy protects and benefits you in two ways:
- We have carefully vetted our hosting providers to ensure they meet our clients’ needs from a security and support standpoint, and support our clients’ ongoing care plan needs;
- Together, your Fat Cat Design hosting services + your Fat Cat Design Care Plan services = a seamlessly integrated solution to protect and maintain your website.

- Our current policy requires that Care Plan clients be hosted through Fat Cat Design. This policy protects and benefits you in two ways:
- If I’m on a Monthly plan, do I have to renew every month?

- No. Monthly plans auto-renew and auto-invoice every month.

- Can I cancel anytime?
- Cancellation requests must be made within 20 calendar days prior to the next auto-renewal/invoice date. You may email your cancellation request to support@fcdesign.net.
- Hosting and Care Plan services will continue only through the current month preceding the termination date. In other words, if you cancel within the required termination window, we will not invoice you for April, but our hosting and Care Plan services will cease on March 31st. If your cancellation request is made outside of the required cancellation window, you will be invoiced for the following month.
- Prior to the termination date, you will need to move your site to a new hosting provider.
Please do not wait until the last minute. On the termination date your site will be removed from our hosting servers and Care Plan services, and your site and its content will be lost. - Once your website hosting and Care Plan services have been terminated, any tasks, corrective work, or site restoration after the cancellation of your Care Plan will require a prepaid consult fee outside of the cost of the requested work.
- Do you grant refunds?
- No refunds are available after your purchased package or service(s) have begun, unless otherwise specified and authorized by Fat Cat Design.
- What if I want to change my Care Plan package or add features?
- You can upgrade your plan at any time. You may also downgrade your plan, if appropriate, at any time. For example, if your website sells products or services, but you wish to downgrade from the Ecommerce Management plan, Fat Cat Design will likely advise otherwise.
- So request upgrades or downgrades, just email Fat Cat Design at support@fcdesign.net.
- I want to sign up for a basic package, but you’re telling me I need a higher tier. What gives?
- Good question! If your website has features or functionality that are not covered in one of the basic packages, we are likely to recommend a higher tier. For example, if your site sells products or services online, we would recommend a Care Plan for ecommerce sites.
- What if I want to customize my Care Plan package or tier?
- We’re happy to create custom packages with add-on services for you. Just Fat Cat Design at support@fcdesign.net.
- How do I provide you with content updates?
- For a streamlined process, we ask that you provide us with your content changes for the current month all at one time. Please provide it to us in the format we request (ie, Word doc), and upload the content to a location we specify (ie, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.).
- If I don’t use my content update or consultation time this month, can I just roll it into the next month?
- Unfortunately, no. Any unused time does not roll over to the following month. We encourage you to utilize those services regularly to keep your site content fresh. And since most companies or businesses are fluid entities, it’s important that your website adjusts and scales accordingly, so you can successfully continue to engage with your audience, clients, and potential customers.
- If I go over my content update or consultation time this month, can I just take it out of the next month’s allotment?
- Unfortunately, no. If your updates or consult time is going to exceed what is included in your plan, the extra time will be invoiced separately.
- Do you fix everything, even if my nephew|cousin|coworker|company consultant messes something up?
- Good question! If anyone other than Fat Cat Design or its subcontractors attempts to update the website and damages the design or impairs the ability for the web pages to display or function properly, time to repair the web pages will require a prepaid consult fee outside of the cost of the specific work required.
- Is it ok for me to share my website login details with my nephew|cousin|coworker|company consultant?
- No! Please protect your login credentials with your life. Don’t share this information, and please don’t leave it on a post-it taped to your computer!
